This image shows page 329 of Cicero, Epistulae ad familiares (“Letters to his friends”), from an early edition printed by Hieronymus Scotus (alias Girolamo Scoto) in 1547 at Venice (Venezia, Italy). On this page, book IX (nine) of the Epistulae begins. In the central column we see the book’s headline, a little woodcut showing Cicero writing his letters, and the beginning of the first letter of book IX. In the margins, we see different commentarys explaining Cicero’s text.
