1792 Allegory of the Polish Constitution of 3 May 1791 by Daniel Chodowicki, an artist from Gdansk working in Berlin.The constitution is personified as a young queen. She is surrounded by two peasants, an artisan, female personifications of science, trade and arts, and victory. This allegory stresses the progressive aspect of the Constitution, enfranchising non-noble classes. Also, note the Polish and Lithuanian coats of arms. Etching, size: 8.8x5.2 cm
