A U.S. Navy McDonnell F-4J-29-MC Phantom II (BuNo 153787) from Fighter Squadron 74 (VF-74) "Be-Devilers" lands aboard the aircraft carrier USS America (CVA-66). VF-74 was assigned to Attack Carrier Air Wing Eight (CVW-8) aboard the America for a deployment to Vietnam from 5 June 1972 to 24 March 1973.

Note: The date given (15 Oct 1987) is incorrect, since VF-74 was stationed aboard USS America in 1972-73 during the deployment to Vietnam. In 1987, VF-74 was flying F-14A Tomcats from USS Saratoga (CV-60) as part of Carrier Air Wing 17 (Tailcode 'AA'). The F-4J 153787 hab been converted to a F-4S in 1987. The aircraft was later converted, again, to a QF-4S target drone and went out of service on 21 July 2000.
