Alex Márquez i Alentà (ur. 23 kwietnia 1996 w Cerverze) – hiszpański motocyklista, mistrz świata kategorii Moto3 w sezonie 2014 oraz kategorii Moto2 w sezonie 2019; młodszy brat mistrza świata MotoGP z lat 2013–2014 i 2016-2019, Marca Marqueza.
Kariera
Droga do MMŚ
Swoją przygodę z poważnym ściganiem Alex rozpoczął w 2010 r., wystartował wtedy w mistrzostwach Hiszpanii CEV, gdzie reprezentował barwy zespołu Monlau Competicion na motocyklu o pojemności 125 cm3. Nie wziął udziału w pierwszym wyścigu sezonu, ponieważ był za młody (brakowało mu 5 dni, aby spełnić wymagania regulaminu), jednak już w drugich zawodach, odbywających się na torze Circuit de Albacete zajął 11 pozycję, taką samą, jak w końcowej klasyfikacji tamtego sezonu (zdobył 24 punkty i ukończył tylko trzy wyścigi), w następnym roku był już wicemistrzem, a w 2012 wygrał cały cykl CEV, równocześnie wystąpił w kilku wyścigach Moto3, jako dzika karta.
Moto3
Pierwszy, pełny sezon Moto3 Marquez zaliczył w 2013 r., ścigał się dla zespołu Estrella Galicia, a jego kolegą zespołowym był Álex Rins. Podczas Grand Prix Japonii na torze Motegi[1], zdobył swoje pierwsze zwycięstwo w MMŚ, stawał też raz na drugim stopniu podium i trzy razy na trzecim, łącznie uzbierał 213 punktów, co w końcowym rozrachunku dało mu 4. miejsce w klasyfikacji generalnej Moto3.
Od 2014 zespół Marqueza, Estrella Galicia, zmienia motocykle z KTM na Hondę.
W 2014 roku w pierwszym GP zajął drugie miejsce. Wyścigu o GP Ameryk nie ukończył. W 3 GP sezonu po raz kolejny stanął na drugim miejscu podium. Pierwsze zwycięstwo tego sezonu odniósł na torze Circut de Barcelona-Catalunya 15 czerwca, po czym zajmował 5. miejsce w klasyfikacji generalnej Moto3. W kolejnym wyścigu, który odbywał się na torze w Assen w Holandii także zwyciężył i awansował na trzecie miejsce w klasyfikacji generalnej.
W sezonie 2014 sięgnął po tytuł mistrzowski, wygrywając go przewagą zaledwie dwóch punktów nad drugim w klasyfikacji generalnej Jackiem Millerem.
Moto 2
W sezonie 2015 jeździ w kategorii Moto2, w zespole Marc VDS Racing Team (razem z rodakiem Esteve Rabatem), lecz pierwszy sezon w drugiej klasie wyścigowej nie mógł zaliczyć do udanych (2 razy czwarte miejsca), zajmując 14. miejsce w klasyfikacji generalnej.
