65. Międzynarodowy Festiwal Filmowy w Wenecji
65. Międzynarodowy Festiwal Filmowy w Wenecji odbył się w dniach 27 sierpnia−6 września 2008 roku. Imprezę otworzył pokaz amerykańskiego filmu Tajne przez poufne w reżyserii braci Coen[1][2]. W konkursie głównym zaprezentowano 21 filmów pochodzących z 10 różnych krajów.
Jury pod przewodnictwem niemieckiego reżysera Wima Wendersa przyznało nagrodę główną festiwalu, Złotego Lwa, amerykańskiemu filmowi Zapaśnik w reżyserii Darrena Aronofsky'ego. Drugą nagrodę w konkursie głównym, Nagrodę Specjalną Jury, przyznano etiopskiemu filmowi Teza w reżyserii Haile Gerimy[3][4].
Honorowego Złotego Lwa za całokształt twórczości odebrał włoski reżyser Ermanno Olmi[5]. Galę otwarcia i zamknięcia festiwalu prowadziła rosyjska aktorka Ksenija Rappoport[6].

The navy blue wheel in the center of the flag has a diameter approximately the width of the white band and is called Ashoka's Dharma Chakra, with 24 spokes (after Ashoka, the Great). Each spoke depicts one hour of the day, portraying the prevalence of righteousness all 24 hours of it.
