Aceratherium – wymarły rodzaj ssaka z rodziny nosorożcowatych, z podrodziny Aceratheriinae. Zamieszkiwał Afrykę i Azję od epoki oligoceńskiej do pliocenu, żyjąc pomiędzy 33,9 a 3,4 miliona lat temu. Egzystował więc on przez 30,5 miliona lat^[2]. Osiągał długość 2,3 m, a wysokość – 1,2 m, ważąc około tony^[3].

Taksonomia

Rekonstrukcja autorstwa Heinricha Hardera

Aceratherium nazwane zostało przez Kaupa (1832). Do rodziny nosorożców przypisał je Carroll (1988); w plemieniu Aceratherini widzieli je Kaya a& Heissig (2001)^[4].
