Sir Antony Mark David Gormley (ur. 30 sierpnia 1950 w Londynie[1][2]) – brytyjski rzeźbiarz. Laureat Nagrody Turnera za terakotową instalację Field (1991)[3]. Odznaczony Orderem Imperium Brytyjskiego IV klasy (OBE).
Życiorys
Studiował w Trinity College na Uniwersytecie Cambridge[2].
Prawdopodobnie najbardziej znany jako twórca Anioła Północy (Angel of the North), rzeźby w Gateshead w Anglii, instalacji Another Place na plaży Crosby w pobliżu Liverpoolu oraz wieloczęściowej instalacji Event Horizon zlokalizowanej w Londynie, Nowym Jorku, Rio de Janeiro oraz São Paulo[4][5][6].

Antony Gormley's "Sound 2" This Antony Gormley bronze sculpture is in the crypt at Winchester cathedral. It was installed in 1986, one of Gormley's earliest works. Like many of his sculptures the mould for this work was made from his own tall, thin body. The crypt is only half underground so there is natural daylight entering the crypt from the north (left). However, it also frequently floods, to the depth of the sculpture's knees.
