Biathlonowy sprint mężczyzn na Zimowych Igrzyskach Olimpijskich 1980 na dystansie 10 km odbył się 19 lutego. Była to druga konkurencja biathlonowa podczas tych igrzysk. Zawody odbyły się na trasach kompleksie olimpijskim w Lake Placid. Do biegu zostało zgłoszonych 50 zawodników, z których wszyscy przystąpili do rywalizacji.
Konkurencja ta debiutowała w programie olimpijskim w 1980 roku. Pierwszym w historii mistrzem olimpijskim w sprincie został Frank Ullrich z NRD, srebrny medal wywalczył Władimir Alikin z ZSRR, a trzecie miejsce zajął jego rodak, Anatolij Alabjew.
