Waga kogucia mężczyzn to jedna z dziesięciu męskich konkurencji bokserskich rozgrywanych podczas letnich igrzysk olimpijskich w 1956 w Melbourne. Startowali bokserzy o wadze nie przekraczającej 54 kilogramów. Pojedynki w tej kategorii wagowej toczone były w dniach od 23 listopada do 1 grudnia w hali West Melbourne Stadium. Zwyciężył pochodzący z Niemieckiej Republiki Demokratycznej Wolfgang Behrendt, który startował w barwach wspólnej reprezentacji Niemiec. Wystąpiło 18 bokserów z 18 państw.
