Waga lekka mężczyzn to jedna z dziesięciu męskich konkurencji bokserskich rozgrywanych podczas letnich igrzysk olimpijskich w 1956 w Melbourne. Startowali bokserzy o wadze nie przekraczającej 60 kilogramów. Pojedynki w tej kategorii wagowej toczone były w dniach od 23 listopada do 1 grudnia w hali West Melbourne Stadium. Zwyciężył reprezentant Wielkiej Brytanii Richard McTaggart, który również otrzymał Puchar Vala Barkera dla najlepszego technicznie i stylowo pięściarza igrzysk[1]. Wystąpiło 18 bokserów z 18 państw.
