Buick Invicta I został zaprezentowany po raz pierwszy w 1958 roku.
Buick Invicta pierwszej generacji pojawił się w ofercie marki pod koniec lat 50. XX wieku jako następca modelu Century. W porównaniu do poprzednika samochód zyskał bardziej strzeliste proporcje nadwozia, a także nieznacznie krótsze nadwozie[1].

Buick Invicta II został zaprezentowany po raz pierwszy w 1960 roku.
Druga generacja Invikty w porównaniu do poprzednika zyskała mniej awangardowe linie, z łagodniej poprowadzonymi przetłoczeniami i bardziej zawartymi proporcjami nadwozia. Trwająca 3 lata produkcja została zakończona w 1963 roku na rzecz następcy - modelu Wildcat[2].

The Buick Motor Company was formed in 1903, it was General Motors' upmarket car, second only to Cadillac. Buicks got all new styling for 1959, the new shape featured wrap around windshield, slanted dual headlights, a highly chromed grille, tail fins and round tail lights. Not only did 1959 see new bodies but new names as well; the short wheelbase B bodies Lesabre and the Invicta and the longer C body Electra and Electra 225. A minor facelift in 1960 saw a concave grille and headlights levelled out to be side by side. The 1959 123 inch wheelbase base model LeSabre, with 250hp 364 cu in, was available in 2 or 4 door Sedan, 2 or 4 door Hardtop, Convertible or Wagon. The 123 inch wheelbase Invicta, 250hp 364 cu in, available in 4 door Sedan, 2 or 4 door Hardtop, Convertible or Wagon.
