Historia i opis modelu

W kwietniu 1976 roku General Motors w ramach współpracy z japońskim Isuzu zdecydowało się poszerzyć ofertę Buicka w Ameryce Północnej o kompaktowy model będący lokalną odmianą Isuzu Gemini[1]. Samochód otrzymał nazwę Buick Opel, będąc jednak tylko technicznie powiązanym z europejskim Oplem Kadettem C. Import odbywał się z japońskich zakładów Isuzu przez trzy lata do 1979 roku, kiedy to zastąpił go model Skyhawk.
Zmiana nazwy
Pomimo zakończenia produkcji Buicka Opla w 1979 roku, General Motors zdecydowało się kontynuować import modelu do Ameryki Północnej, ale już pod marką Isuzu jako Isuzu I-Mark[2].

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this!! I knew they existed, but I never thought I'd ever see one, let alone seeing one here!
As we all know, these were a rebadged Isuzu Gemini, built in Japan and sold in the US as the Buick Opel, in sedan and coupe bodystyles. We saw them in Australia as the Holden Gemini.
I also noticed the little 'Isuzu' badge was still displayed on the grill, even though the 'Opel' name was clearly displayed everywhere else and then there was a little sticker on the back saying 'Buick'. There was also a badge on the back saying 'Opel - By Isuzu'.
This one was in fantastic condition! Not sure who imported it in, but this needs to be kept in a safe place!
