Sezon 2002 w CART był dwudziestą czwartą edycją tej serii wyścigowej. Rozpoczął się 10 marca a zakończył się po 19 wyścigach 17 listopada.
Tytuł mistrzowski zdobył Cristiano da Matta z zespołu Newman/Haas Racing, a tytuł najlepszego nowicjusza (Rookie of the year) zdobył Mario Domínguez. Zespoły używały nadwozia dostarczane przez Lolę oraz Reynarda, a dostawcami silników byli Ford, Honda i Toyota. Opony wszystkim zespołom dostarczała firma Bridgestone.
