Sezon 1983 w PPG CART Indy Car World Series był piątą edycją tej serii wyścigowej. Rozpoczął się 17 kwietnia a zakończył się po 13 wyścigach 29 października.
Tytuł mistrzowski zdobył Al Unser z zespołu Penske Racing, a tytuł najlepszego nowicjusza (Rookie of the year) zdobył Teo Fabi. Fabi jednocześnie odniósł najwięcej zwycięstw (4) i zdobył tytuł wicemistrzowski. Trzecie miejsce w klasyfikacji sezonu zajął Mario Andretti.
