Cacophony – amerykańska grupa muzyczna wykonująca neoklasyczny speed/heavy metal[4]. Powstała 1986 roku w San Francisco w stanie Kalifornia w USA[4]. Grupę rozwiązano około 1989 roku tuż po wydawniczej klęsce jaką okazała się realizacja drugiego albumu pt. Go Off!. Ostatecznym końcem grupy okazało się jednak odejście Martyego Friedmana do grupy Megadeth oraz Jasona Beckera do zespołu Davida Lee Rotha wokalisty znanego z występów w grupie Van Halen[3].
