Channa – rodzaj drapieżnych ryb okoniokształtnych z rodziny żmijogłowowatych (Channidae). Mniejsze gatunki są hodowane w akwariach.
Występowanie
Afryka, z wyjątkiem terenów pustynnych, południowa Azja od Afganistanu po Nową Gwineę (bez Australii) na wschodzie po Japonię, a na południe po Madagaskar.

A blue-nosed snakehead fish (Thai: ปลากั๊ง) at the 20th Pramong Nomklao fish show event at the Future Park Rangsit, Thailand, in July 2008. The specimen was labelled as Channa limbata by the event organizers, but some sources that did not recognize this species would consider it a Channa gachua instead. Picture taken by myself.
