Choi Young-il (ur. 25 kwietnia 1966 w Namhae) – południowokoreański piłkarz i trener, reprezentant kraju grający na pozycji obrońcy.
Kariera klubowa
Choi w latach 1986–1988 występował w studenckich drużynach Dong-A University. Od 1989 zaprezentował barwy Ulsan Hyundai Horang-i. Wraz z drużyną wygrał pierwsze w swojej karierze mistrzostwo K League 1 w sezonie 1996. Wygrał także w rozgrywkach o Puchar Ligi w 1995. Przez 7 lat gry w Ulsan wystąpił w 209 spotkaniach, w których strzelił 3 bramki.
W 1997 dołączył do Busan IPark. Już w pierwszym sezonie zdobył z klubem mistrzostwo K League 1. Rok później sięgnął do Puchar Ligi. Sezon 1999 spędził w chińskim Liaoning Hongyun, dla którego zagrał w 20 spotkaniach.
Ostatni sezon w karierze spędził w Anyang LG Cheetahs. Wraz z trzecim koreańskim klubem, w którym występował, zdobył mistrzostwo K League 1 w sezonie 2000. Po tym sukcesie zakończył karierę piłkarską.

Kariera reprezentacyjna
Choi karierę reprezentacyjną rozpoczął 12 marca 1994 w meczu przeciwko reprezentacji USA, zremisowanym 1:1. W tym samym roku otrzymał od trenera Kim Ho powołanie na Mistrzostwa Świata w USA. Na turnieju zagrał w trzech meczach grupowych z Hiszpanią, Boliwią i Niemcami.
Powołany był także na Igrzyska Azjatyckie 1994, na których zagrał w 6 spotkaniach. Miał bardzo duży wkład w awans Korei Południowej na Mistrzostwa Świata 1998, grając łącznie w 11 spotkaniach eliminacyjnych. Znalazł się w kadrze na francuski mundial, gdzie wystąpił w spotkaniu fazy grupowej z Holandią, przegranym 0:5. Był to jednocześnie ostatni mecz w kadrze Choia, dla której w latach 1994–1998 wystąpił w 56 spotkaniach.
Kariera trenerska
Od 2000 jest trenerem na Dong-A University.
