David Sheridan Holmes (ur. 1939[1]) – profesor psychologii Uniwersytetu Kansas[2], profesor emeritus[3], autor wielu książek, artykułów i publikacji naukowych oraz współautor prac zbiorczych z dziedziny psychologii[2], autor koncepcji projekcji psychologicznych jako mechanizmów obronnych, która wyodrębnia cztery typy:
