Donal McKeown (ur. 12 kwietnia 1950 w Randalstown) – irlandzki duchowny katolicki, biskup Derry od 2014.

Życiorys

Święcenia kapłańskie otrzymał 3 lipca 1977 i został inkardynowany do diecezji Down-Connor. Pełnił funkcje kapelana szpitala Mater Infirmorum w Belfaście (1977-1978) oraz nauczyciela w szkołach: St. Patrick's College w Belfaście (1978-1983), St. McNissi's College (1983-1987) oraz St. Malachy's College (1987-2001, od 1995 był także dyrektorem tej szkoły)[1].

22 lutego 2001 papież Jan Paweł II mianował go biskupem pomocniczym diecezji Down-Connor, nadając mu stolicę tytularną Cell Ausaille[2]. Sakry udzielił mu 29 kwietnia 2001 biskup Down-Connor - Patrick Joseph Walsh.

25 lutego 2014 został mianowany biskupem ordynariuszem Derry[1]. Ingres odbył się 6 kwietnia 2014.

The Bishop's coat of arms takes some elements from the traditional McKeown family symbols – the salmon, which is an ancient Irish symbol of wisdom, and the red hand. However, the simple penal crosses now flank the One whose hands were pierced for the world's salvation. The salmon reflects the words of the prophet Isaiah, who said "with joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation" (Is 12:3).

The Bishop's motto "Veritas in Caritate" occurs in the Letter of Saint Paul to the Ephesians (4:15). By doing and speaking the "truth in love", all are encouraged to grow together as the Body of Christ, under Christ the Head. All those who are "in Christ" have been given their own share of grace, so that together we can become mature with the fullness of Christ himself.
