Ford's Theatre (pol. Teatr Forda) – teatr w Waszyngtonie otwarty w 1863 roku. Miejsce zamachu na szesnastego prezydenta USA Abrahama Lincolna 14 kwietnia 1865 roku.

Historia

Budynek początkowo pełnił funkcje kościoła baptystów. W 1861 roku został zakupiony przez Johna T. Forda i przekształcony w teatr. Nadano mu nazwę Ford’s Athenaeum. Po pożarze w 1862 roku teatr został odbudowany i nazwany Ford’s New Theatre[1].14 kwietnia 1865 roku John Wilkes Booth wszedł do loży prezydenckiej w trakcie trzeciego aktu i o 22.15 z odległości 10 cm strzelił w tył głowy prezydenta Lincolna[2].

W 1866 roku rząd kupił teatr za 88 000 dolarów i przeniósł do niego dokumentację medyczną Armii, muzeum i National Library of Medicine, która w tym budynku funkcjonowała do 1887 roku[3]. Na dwóch dolnych piętrach mieścił się Office of Records and Pensions[1]. W 1928 roku budynek przejął Office of Public Buildings and Public Parks. Wymagało to przebudowy wnętrza budynku. Otwarcie teatru miało miejsce w 1968 roku. W 1988 roku Muzeum Forda zostało zmodernizowane. Kolejną modernizację ukończono w 2009 roku[1].

The flag of Navassa Island is simply the United States flag. It does not have a "local" flag or "unofficial" flag; it is an uninhabited island. The version with a profile view was based on Flags of the World and as a fictional design has no status warranting a place on any Wiki. It was made up by a random person with no connection to the island, it has never flown on the island, and it has never received any sort of recognition or validation by any authority. The person quoted on that page has no authority to bestow a flag, "unofficial" or otherwise, on the island.

From left to right: Henry Rathbone, Clara Harris, Mary Todd Lincoln, Abraham Lincoln, and John Wilkes Booth. Rathbone is depicted as spotting Booth before he shot Lincoln and trying to stop him as Booth fired his weapon. Rathbone actually was unaware of Booth’s approach, and reacted after the shot was fired. While Lincoln is depicted clutching the flag after being shot, it is also possible that he just simply pushed the flag aside to watch the performance.
