Podsumowanie sezonu
Po śmierci Rindta w poprzednim roku Lotus zaliczył słaby sezon z młodymi i niedoświadczonymi kierowcami takimi jak Emerson Fittipaldi. Zespół spędził dużo czasu eksperymentując z turbiną gazową i napędem na cztery koła. Mistrzostwo zdobył Jackie Stewart zasiadający za kierownicą Tyrrella.
