Przed rozpoczęciem sezonu

Zmiany wśród zespołów

  • Po dwóch sezonach, zespół Racing Point zmienił nazwę na Aston Martin[52]. Ponadto nowym sponsorem tytularnym została amerykańska firma z branży IT, Cognizant[53].
  • Po trzech sezonach współpracy z Renault, zespół McLaren powrócił do korzystania z silników Mercedes[3].
  • Po pięciu latach, Renault ponownie przestanie być konstruktorem, zmieniając nazwę na Alpine[40]. Koncern Renault pozostał jako dostawca silników[40].
  • Rosyjski koncern Uralkali został tytularnym sponsorem zespołu Haas[26].

Zmiany wśród kierowców

  • Przed rozpoczęciem trzeciej sesji treningowej na torze Zandvoort Kimi Räikkönen uzyskał pozytywny wynik na obecność COVID-19. Fina zastąpił kierowca rezerwowy zespołu Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN Robert Kubica[25]. Kubica zastąpił Räikkönena także podczas Grand Prix Włoch[56].
  • Przed rozpoczęciem wyścigu Grand Prix Abu Zabi 2021 Nikita Mazepin uzyskał wynik pozytywny na obecność COVID-19. Zgodnie z art. 31.1 2021 Regulaminu Sportowego Formuły 1 kierowca musi wystąpić w przynajmniej jednej sesji treningowej, aby móc wziąć udział w kwalifikacjach a następnie wyścigu. Mazepin pozytywny wynik otrzymał już po odbyciu się wszystkich sesji treningowych, a także po kwalifikacjach, wobec czego nie mógł zostać zastąpiony przez żadnego z kierowców rezerwowych Haasa[57][58].

Kalendarz

Kalendarz został opublikowany 10 listopada 2020 roku[59]. 16 grudnia 2020 potwierdzono wyścig o Grand Prix São Paulo[60], a niecały miesiąc później właściciele toru Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya podpisali roczny kontrakt na organizację Grand Prix Hiszpanii[61]. 12 stycznia kalendarz został zmodyfikowany[62]. 5 marca oficjalnie potwierdzono organizację Grand Prix Portugalii[63]. 26 kwietnia komisja Formuły 1 ogłosiła 3 wyścigi kwalifikacyjne, które odbędą się na dwóch torach europejskich i jednym poza Europą[64]. 28 kwietnia ogłoszono że Grand Prix Turcji zastąpi Grand Prix Kanady[65]. 14 maja Liberty Media oficjalnie poinformowało o rezygnacji z planów rozegrania Grand Prix Turcji. Podjęto decyzję o przesunięciu Grand Prix Francji o jeden tydzień i o zorganizowaniu Grand Prix Styrii w dniach 25–27 czerwca[66]. 4 czerwca Grand Prix Singapuru zostało odwołane[67]. 25 czerwca w miejsce odwołanego Singapuru ponownie zostało dodane Grand Prix Turcji[68]. 6 lipca Grand Prix Australii zostało odwołane[69]. 18 sierpnia zostało odwołane Grand Prix Japonii[70]. 28 sierpnia sezon został oficjalnie skrócony do 22 wyścigów, a wyścigi w Turcji, Meksyku i Brazylii zostały przesunięte[71]. 30 września zostało dodane Grand Prix Kataru[72].

As this is a free-hand map drawn by an enthusiast rather than a professional cartographer's work it may contain some errors, although checking it against other maps it appears accurate enough for most purposes. The track is shown in black with a grey outline, while the pit lane is shown in blue. A scale showing the length of one kilometre (with increments of 100 metres) is given, to allow viewers to contextualise and understand what they are looking at. Corner numbers and other important text is given an off-white background to avoid transparency issues rendering it illegible on certain devices. A line with a chequered flag pattern crossing the track and pit lane shows the location of the start/finish line also known as the control or timing line; while the location of pole position is indicated by a white line, crossing only the track, marked with a large mauve arrow, which indicates the direction of travel. The salmon arrow marked "N" shows the direction of north.

This is a map of the w:en:Red Bull Ring, formerly known as the A1-Ring and the Österreichring, in w:en:Spielberg, Austria. It shows the circuit roughly as it has been in the period spanning 2014-2021. Corner numbers are marked with the numbers "1" through "10", the start/finish line is marked with a checkered flag and a large arrow showing a direction of travel. The marker "S1" shows the end of the first sector, and the marker "S2" shows the end of the second sector. The location of these markers was sourced from the FIA's official Formula One circuit map. The arrow marked "N" shows the direction of north. The track layout is in black, while the pit lane is shown in blue. The corner names are as given on the venue's website in the year 2021. The dashed lines show the sectors in roughly the same colours that Formula One's official graphics do, although this has been edited to fit with a colour palette intended to reduce the likelihood of issues occurring for colourblind viewers. Sector 1 is salmon, sector 2 is cyan, and sector 3 is yellow.
