Sezon 2022 Formuły 1, oficjalnie FIA Formula One World Championship 2022 – 73. sezon Mistrzostw Świata Formuły 1.

W tym sezonie wprowadzone zostały nowe regulacje techniczne. Miały one pierwotnie zostać wprowadzone w 2021 roku, lecz z powodu pandemii COVID-19 zostały one przeniesione na ten sezon[1]. Tytuł mistrza świata kierowców po raz drugi wywalczył Max Verstappen. Wśród konstruktorów po raz piąty tytuł zdobył austriacki zespół Red Bull Racing.

Zmiany w trakcie sezonu

  • Przed rozpoczęciem Grand Prix Bahrajnu, Sebastian Vettel otrzymał pozytywny wynik na obecność koronawirusa. Jego zastępcą na ten wyścig został Nico Hülkenberg[20]. Kierowca zastąpił Vettela także w Grand Prix Arabii Saudyjskiej[57].
  • Przed 3 sesją treningową do Grand Prix Włoch u Alexandra Albona zdiagnozowano zapalenie wyrostka robaczkowego, co uniemożliwiło mu dalszy start. Jego zastępcą w tym GP został Nyck de Vries[23].

Kalendarz

Kalendarz został opublikowany 15 października 2021[58]. 25 lutego 2022 Grand Prix Rosji, które miało się odbyć w dniach 23–25 września, zostało odwołane wskutek inwazji Rosji na Ukrainę[59]. 18 maja sezon został oficjalnie skrócony do 22 wyścigów[60].

Zmiany w kalendarzu

Zmiany w przepisach

  • Samochody zostały przeprojektowane – mają prostsze przednie skrzydła, zabudowane felgi, dwupoziomowe tylne skrzydło, skrzydełka nad przednimi kołami oraz podłogę z tunelami, co ma skutkować utworzeniem efektu przypowierzchniowego, który został zakazany po sezonie 1983[63]. Przednie skrzydło zostanie zwężone z 2000 do 1950 mm, maksymalna wysokość samochodu zostanie powiększona – z 950 do 960 mm, a średnica kół zostanie zwiększona z 670 do 720 mm[64].
  • W samochodach Formuły 1 używane będą 18-calowe felgi. Wcześniej wprowadzono je do Formuły 2 w 2020, aby przetestować zmiany w zachowaniu opon[65]. Pierwotnie sugerowano zakazanie używania koców grzewczych, jednak decyzję cofnięto po sprzeciwie Pirelli[66]. W tym celu, w sezonach 2019-2021 zorganizowano ponad 30 dni testowych, w trakcie których zespoły sprawdzały zachowanie nowych konstrukcji[67].
  • Zwiększona zostanie waga minimalna bolidów z 752 do 795 kilogramów[64]
  • Wszystkie zespoły Formuły 1 będą musiały skorzystać z mieszanki paliwa, oznaczonej jako E10, która wykorzystuje biokomponenty – jego celem ma być redukcja szkodliwych substancji dla środowiska[68].
  • Sprinty pozostały w Formule 1 – promotor wyścigów chciał zwiększenia ilości takich wyścigów, jednak na to nie zgodziły się zespoły, które chciały podniesienia limitu budżetowego. W związku z tym postanowiono o organizacji wyścigów sprinterskich podczas Grand Prix Emilii-Romanii, Grand Prix Austrii i Grand Prix São Paulo[69].
  • Zmieniono system punktacji sprintów – od tego sezonu punkty otrzyma ośmiu najlepszych kierowców według następującego klucza: 8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1[69].
  • Podczas Grand Prix Emilii-Romanii, Grand Prix Austrii i Grand Prix São Paulo o tym, kto zdobędzie pole position, zadecydują wyniki z piątkowych kwalifikacji[69].
  • Władze Formuły 1 i FIA, w związku z kontrowersjami dotyczącymi przyznania punktów za Grand Prix Belgii 2021 przedstawiła zmiany w systemie przyznawania punktów. Aby punkty zostały w ogóle przyznane, lider wyścigu musi przejechać co najmniej dwa okrążenia bez wirtualnej neutralizacji bądź samochodu bezpieczeństwa. Decyzja musi zostać zatwierdzona przez Światową Radę Sportu Motorowego[70]. Przepis ten ma jedynie zastosowanie, jeżeli wyścig zostanie przerwany, w innym przypadku zostanie przyznane 100% punktów[71]. W takim wypadku rozkład punktów wyglądać będzie następująco:

  • W związku z likwidacją czwartkowego dnia medialnego, przesunięte zostały godziny rozpoczęcia piątkowych sesji treningowych[72].
  • Zlikwidowana zostanie zasada, mówiąca o tym, że kierowcy zakwalifikowani do Q3 muszą startować w wyścigu na oponach używanych w Q2. Od tej pory cała stawka będzie mogła dowolnie wybrać opony na start wyścigu[73].

Zmiany w kierownictwie

  • W lutym 2022, FIA poinformowała, że Michael Masi stracił stanowisko dyrektora wyścigów Formuły 1 – jego funkcję pełnią naprzemiennie Eduardo Freitas (który pozostanie dyrektorem wyścigów WEC) i Niels Wittich, były dyrektor wyścigów DTM, zaś Herbie Blash został stałym starszym doradcą[74].
  • FIA wprowadzi wirtualny system kontroli wyścigu, porównywalny do systemu VAR, używanego w piłce nożnej[74]. Dodatkowo komunikacja radiowa między dyrekcją wyścigów a szefami zespołu zostanie wyłączona[74].

This is a map of the w:en:Red Bull Ring, formerly known as the A1-Ring and the Österreichring, in w:en:Spielberg, Austria. It shows the circuit roughly as it has been in the period spanning 2014-2021. Corner numbers are marked with the numbers "1" through "10", the start/finish line is marked with a checkered flag and a large arrow showing a direction of travel. The marker "S1" shows the end of the first sector, and the marker "S2" shows the end of the second sector. The location of these markers was sourced from the FIA's official Formula One circuit map. The arrow marked "N" shows the direction of north. The track layout is in black, while the pit lane is shown in blue. The corner names are as given on the venue's website in the year 2021. The dashed lines show the sectors in roughly the same colours that Formula One's official graphics do, although this has been edited to fit with a colour palette intended to reduce the likelihood of issues occurring for colourblind viewers. Sector 1 is salmon, sector 2 is cyan, and sector 3 is yellow.
