Friedrich Hirzebruch

Friedrich Ernst Peter Hirzebruch (ur. 17 października 1927 w Hamm[1][2], zm. 27 maja 2012 w Bonn[1][2]) – matematyk niemiecki[1][2]. Zajmował się geometrią algebraiczną, w której jako jeden z pierwszych zastosował nowoczesne metody topologiczne[1]. Opisywany jako najważniejszy matematyk w historii powojennych Niemiec[2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11].
Twórca nierówności Hirzebrucha[12][13].
W 1997 r. został członkiem zagranicznym PAN[14].
