Godłem Syrii jest złoty jastrząb (czasem określany jako orzeł) z umieszczoną na piersi tarczą z flagą Syrii. Pod jastrzębiem znajduje się zielona wstęga z nazwą państwa: Syryjska Republika Arabska (arab.: الجمهورية العربية السورية - Al-Dżumhurijja al-Arabijja as-Surijja). Na piersi ptaka znajduje się tarcza z flagą Syrii ułożoną pionowo.
Symbol ten został przyjęty przez Syrię w 1980 r.
