Hrabstwo Castro – rolnicze hrabstwo położone w USA, w północno-zachodniej części stanu Teksas. Hrabstwo utworzono poprzez wydzielenie z terytorium Young w 1876 r.[1] Siedzibą władz hrabstwa jest Dimmitt, które zamieszkuje ponad 50% mieszkańców hrabstwa[2].
Hrabstwo Castro jest jednym z najbardziej produktywnych rolniczych hrabstw stanu. W 2017 roku obszar ten zajął 3. miejsce w stanie i 28. w kraju pod względem wpływów z rolnictwa. Ma drugie co do wielkości stada bydła w Teksasie (467 tys.). Większe pogłowie bydła ma jedynie sąsiednie Deaf Smith. Posiada także wielkie uprawy bawełny, kukurydzy, pszenicy, oraz produkuje znaczne ilości pasz[3].
Historia
Hrabstwo Castro zostało utworzone i nazwane przez legislaturę Teksasu w 1876 roku na cześć Henri Castro – agenta ziemskiego i kolonizatora Teksasu[4][5].
