Kamgarn
Rekel z wełnianego kamgarnu
Kamgarn – przędza lub tkanina z wełny czesankowej, o splocie ukośnym, z grubą, wyraźną prążką, gęsta, dosyć gruba, mocna. Używana dawniej na galowe i wyjściowe mundury wojskowe generałów, oficerów i podoficerów zawodowych (starszych), także na galowe i wyjściowe mundury policyjne, znacznie rzadziej na ubrania cywilne. Obecnie mundury galowe i wyjściowe szyje się z gabardyny.
Nazwa pochodzenia germańskiego. W języku niemieckim oznacza ona rodzaj przędzy czesankowej, a wtórnym znaczeniem jest nazwa tkaniny (rodzaj nieco grubszej gabardyny o bardziej wyraźnych prążkach).

This is a picture of my Lange Rekel. It is made of 100% worsted wool, and is just meant to illustrate the Rekel article. Notice that the button pattern is right over left, counter to the usual style. This is because according to Jewish law, Jews should not wear their clothes in ways that are specific to non-Jews. As an aside, many Jews believe this piece of Halaka is out of date. Also, the fur hat in the background of the picture is not a Hasidic one, such as a Shtreimel, but is rather a faux fur version of a popular Russian cap called an Ambassador or Cossack.
