Layer Road – nieistniejący już stadion piłkarski, położony w mieście Colchester, w Anglii. Oddany został do użytku w 1909 roku. Od tego czasu swoje mecze na tym obiekcie rozgrywa zespół Colchester United F.C. Jego pojemność wynosiła 6340 miejsc. Rekordową frekwencję, wynoszącą 19 072 osób, odnotowano w 1948 podczas meczu pucharowego pomiędzy Colchester United a Reading F.C. W latach 2007–2008 wybudowano Weston Homes Community Stadium, który zastąpił Layer Road[1]. Ostatni mecz na stadionie odbył się 26 kwietnia 2008 roku (porażka Colchesteru 0:1 ze Stoke City F.C.). 17 lipca tego samego roku obiekt definitywnie zamknięto, po czym został wyburzony[2].

Colchester United's Layer Rd Ground. Layer Road has been the venue for Colchester’s footie team since the 1909-10 season. Colchester Town F.C was wound up and Colchester United founded in 1937. The U’s finest hour came in the 5th round of the 1971 F.A Cup when the 4th Division Side beat the 1st Division (equivalent of premier league now) League Champions Leeds United 3-2. Not being much of a soccer fan I was in TM0024 at the time and could hear the roar each time a goal went in! The Layer Rd stadium is due to be replaced for the 2007-8 season with a brand new stadium at 132822to the north of the town.
