Rzut dyskiem mężczyzn podczas XVIII Letnich Igrzysk Olimpijskich w Tokio rozegrano 15 października 1964 (kwalifikacje i finał) na Stadionie Olimpijskim w Tokio. Zwycięzcą został Amerykanin Al Oerter, który po raz trzeci z rzędu został mistrzem olimpijskim w tej konkurencji (poprzednio zwyciężał na igrzyskach olimpijskich w 1956 w Melbourne i igrzyskach olimpijskich w 1960 w Rzymie, a po raz czwarty został mistrzem olimpijskim na igrzyskach olimpijskich w 1968 w Meksyku). Oerter ustanowił w finale rekord olimpijski rzutem na odległość 61,00 m[1].
