Gmina została utworzona 1 stycznia 2016 roku z połączenia siedmiu ówczesnych gmin: Les Cerqueux-sous-Passavant, La Fosse-de-Tigné, Nueil-sur-Layon, Tancoigné, Tigné, Trémont oraz Vihiers. Siedzibą gminy została miejscowość Vihiers[2].
