„Argent, above a terrace in base wavy azure a boat with a mast proper, on its top a flag gules, Argent, azure; ahead on the boat a boatman, dressed gules with trousers and hat azure, in his hands an oar sable; on the upper afterdeck a crowned or, double-tailed lion rampant gules, in his claws an Oar sable; in the crest an embattled three-towered mural crown gules with slits sable and open gate Argent.“
The arms were derived from a seal of 1575. They remember on the shipping on the rhine river; the lion of the duchy of Berg symbolises the former affiliation.
