W styczniu 1990 roku strzelił zwycięską bramkę w meczu 3. rundy Pucharu Anglii przeciwko Nottingham Forest. Dzięki tej wygranej na stanowisku menadżera Manchesteru United pozostał Alex Ferguson[2].
