Mistrzostwa Świata FIBT 1949 odbyły się w dniu 1 lutego 1949 w amerykańskiej miejscowości Lake Placid, gdzie rozegrano konkurencję męskich dwójek i czwórek bobslejowych. Były to pierwsze mistrzostwa świata w bobslejach rozegrane poza Europą.
