4. Mistrzostwa świata w łyżwiarstwie szybkim w wieloboju sprinterskim odbyły się w Oslo, w Norwegii w dniach 3–4 lutego 1973. Zawody rozegrano na sztucznym torze na Valle Hovin Kunstisbane. Zawodnicy dwukrotnie startowali na dystansie 500 i 1000 metrów. Najlepsi byli: reprezentantka USA Sheila Young oraz zawodnik ZSRR Walerij Muratow.
Uczestnicy
W zawodach wzięło udział 29 łyżwiarek i 38 łyżwiarzy z 14 krajów. Wszyscy zostali sklasyfikowani.
