Pchnięcie kulą mężczyzn było jedną z konkurencji rozgrywanych podczas XI mistrzostw Europy w Rzymie. Kwalifikacje rozegrano 4 września, a finał 6 września 1974 roku. Zwycięzcą tej konkurencji został reprezentant Niemieckiej Republiki Demokratycznej Hartmut Briesenick, który obronił tytuł zdobyty na mistrzostwach w 1971. W rywalizacji wzięło udział dwudziestu zawodników z dwunastu reprezentacji.

Zentralbild Koch 08.09.1968 Frankfurt-Oder: DDR-Juniorenmeisterschaften in der Leichtathletik. Mit guten 50,46 m holte sich Hartmut Briesenick (SC Dynamo Berlin) bei den DDR-Leichtathletikmeisterschaften der Junioren am 07.09.1968 in Frankfurt-Oder den Titel im Diskuswerfen.
