Roland Steuk
Rzut młotem mężczyzn był jedną z konkurencji rozgrywanych podczas XII mistrzostw Europy w Pradze. Kwalifikacje rozegrano 1 września, a finał 2 września 1978 roku. Zwycięzcą tej konkurencji został reprezentant Związku Radzieckiego Jurij Siedych. W rywalizacji wzięło udział dwudziestu zawodników z jedenastu reprezentacji.

ADN-ZB Kluge 01.07.1978-str-Leipzig: DDR-Meisterschaften der Leichtathleten-Mit einem neuen DDR-Rekord begann der erste Tag der Titelkämpfe. Der 19jährige TSC-Sportler aus Berlin Roland Steuk wurde DDR-Meister mit der Rekordweite von 78,14 m, die gleichzeitig Junioren-Weltbestleistung bedeuten.
