Sztafeta turecka pierwotnie brała udział w drugim biegu eliminacyjnym i nie awansowała do finału. Na skutek złożonego protestu, wystartowali ponownie, w samotnym biegu, uzyskując awans do finału. Protest związany był z przeszkadzaniem sztafety fińskiej, sztafecie tureckiej[8].
