- 3 czerwca podczas drugiego treningu przed wyścigiem (25 minut przed końcem sesji) Luis Salom zginął w wyniku obrażeń odniesionych podczas wypadku na zakręcie dwunastym, gdzie Salom wypadł z toru i został trafiony własnym motocyklem[2][3].
