Okręty desantowe typu Austin – amerykańskie okręty desantowe służące od 1965 w Marynarce Wojennej Stanów Zjednoczonych. Zaliczane są do klasy amphibious transport dock (LPD), czyli okręt desantowy-dok. Zbudowano 12 okrętów tego typu. Od 2005 są stopniowo wycofywane ze służby. Zastępują je okręty typu San Antonio.
USS Trenton został sprzedany Indyjskiej Marynarki Wojennej i przemianowany na INS Jalashwa.

The 569-foot-long amphibious warfare ship is part of the first Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG-1). An ESG constitutes a new naval strike force designed to equip amphibious forces with added firepower and operational capabilities. The seven ships of ESG-1 include, the Ogden, USS Peleliu (LHA-5), USS Jarrett (FFG-33), USS Germantown (LSD-42), USS Port Royal (CG-73), USS Decatur (DDG-73), and USS Greeneville (SSN-772). The amphibious landing dock ship is named after the great city of in Utah and was commissioned on June 16, 1965.

The ensign consists of the Indian national flag on the upper canton, a blue octagon encasing the national emblem atop an anchor to depict steadfastness, superimposed on a shield with the Navy’s motto “Śaṁ No Varunaḥ” (a Vedic mantra invoking the god of seas to be auspicious) in Devanagari. The octagon represents the eight directions and has been included as a symbol of the Navy’s “multidirectional reach and multidimensional operational capability”. The golden borders of the octagon have been inspired by the seal of Maratha Emperor Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
