Historia i opis modelu
W 1997 roku Oldsmobile zdecydowało się wskrzesić niestosowaną od 1981 roku nazwę Cutlass dla bliźniaczej odmiany średniej wielkości sedana Chevrolet Malibu[1], która w dotychczasowej ofercie producenta zastąpiła model Achieva.
Samochód odróżniał się od niego innym wyglądem atrapy chłodnicy i przedniego zderzaka, a także innym wyglądem klapy bagażnika i tylnych lamp, które przyjęły formę jednoczęściowego pasa biegnącego przez całą szerokość nadwozia. Samochód dostępny był tylko jako 4-drzwiowy sedan[2].
Sprzedaż
Oldsmobile Cutlass sprzedawany był z myślą o Stanach Zjednoczonych i Kanadzie. Produkcja modelu trwała tylko 2 lata, po czym Cutlass został zastąpiony przez zupełnie nową konstrukcją Alero.

A 1998 Oldsmobile Cutlass GLS in Medium Beige. This Cutlass is equipped with the 3.1L V6 engine, and assembled in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This is actually the GLS trim, which was the nicest model of Cutlass you could buy. The N-body Cutlass is pretty hard to find so getting a photo of one is even harder so I was pretty happy finding one.
