50 m stylem dowolnym kobiet – jedna z konkurencji pływackich, które odbyły się podczas XXXI Igrzysk Olimpijskich w Rio de Janeiro. Eliminacje i półfinały miały miejsce 12 sierpnia, a finał konkurencji 13 sierpnia.

Pernille Blume pokonała bardziej doświadczone rywalki i zdobyła pierwszy złoty medal w pływaniu dla Danii od 68 lat. W finale Blume uzyskała czas 24,07 i o 0,02 s wyprzedziła mistrzynię olimpijską na dystansie 100 m stylem dowolnym, Amerykankę Simone Manuel. Brąz, z czasem 24,11, wywalczyła srebrna medalistka na 50 m kraulem sprzed czterech lat, Alaksandra Hierasimienia z Białorusi[1].

Tuż za podium, ze stratą 0,02 s, znalazła się Brytyjka Francesca Halsall. Faworytki wyścigu, reprezentujące Australię siostry Cate (24,15) i Bronte Campbell (24,42) zakończyły rywalizację na piątym i siódmym miejscu[2]. Broniąca tytułu mistrzyni olimpijskiej Holenderka Ranomi Kromowidjojo pomimo świetnego startu uplasowała się na szóstej pozycji (24,19). Ostatnie miejsce w finale zajęła reprezentantka gospodarzy Etiene Medeiros (24,69).

The flag of the Dominican Republic has a centered white cross that extends to the edges. This emblem is similar to the flag design and shows a bible, a cross of gold and 6 Dominican flags. There are branches of olive and palm around the shield and above on the ribbon is the motto "Dios,Patria!, Libertad" ("God, Country, Freedom") and to amiable freedom.
