Rywalizacja w wadze do 56 kg mężczyzn w podnoszeniu ciężarów na Letnich Igrzyskach Olimpijskich 1948 odbyła się 9 sierpnia 1948 roku w hali Earls Court Exhibition Centre. W rywalizacji wystartowało 19 zawodników z 14 krajów. Był to pierwszy raz w historii kiedy rozegrano olimpijską rywalizację w wadze koguciej. Mistrzem olimpijskim został Joseph DePietro z USA, srebrny medal wywalczył Brytyjczyk Julian Creus, a trzecie miejsce zajął kolejny reprezentant USA - Richard Tom.
