Rywalizacja w wadze do 60 kg mężczyzn w podnoszeniu ciężarów na Letnich Igrzyskach Olimpijskich 1972 odbyła się 29 sierpnia 1972 roku w hali Gewichtheberhalle. W rywalizacji wystartowało 13 zawodników z 11 krajów. Tytułu sprzed czterech lat nie obronił Japończyk Yoshinobu Miyake, który tym razem zajął czwarte miejsce. Nowym mistrzem olimpijskim został Bułgar Norair Nurikjan, srebrny medal zdobył Dito Szanidze z ZSRR, a trzecie miejsce zajął Węgier János Benedek.

Besides, the blue outline of the five-petaled plum blossom is broader than the red one. Moreover, the CMYK code of the blue one and the Blue Sky & White Sun is "C100-M100-Y0-K0", and different from the Olympic rings (C100-M25-Y0-K0). Note that it's the only version recognized by IOC.
