The teacher hostel and orphanage also called Philistean Orphanage, a typical German building built in 1913 on the instigation of Matthäus Spohn (1866-1935) to house the apprentices from the Syrian Orphanage, Jerusalem, trained here on the orphanage's own farm in then Bir Salem, now kibbutz Netzer Sereni, Israel.
