Sharon Jemutai Cherop (35), is a Kenyan long-distance runner who specialises in the marathon. The numerous success of Cherop in the category of long meters can not be overemphasized as her days of wining started from teen to senior level of women long distance race.

She won a bronze medal at the age of sixteen in the 5000 metres at the World Junior Championships. She was the bronze medal winner in the marathon at the 2011 World Championships in Athletics and won the Boston Marathon in 2012.

Her personal best of 2:22:39 was set at the 2012 Dubai Marathon.

 February 8 2020, She won the Female category of Lagos City Marathon (42km), with a course record time of 02:30:40 leading Kebene Chala Urisa with seven 7secs.

In the female category of Lagos City marathon 2020 edition, Kenyan Sharon Cherop came first in 02:31:40secs and won the grand price of $50,000.
