Stela Kiriakidu, gr. Στέλλα Κυριακίδου (ur. 10 marca 1956 w Nikozji[1]) – cypryjska polityk i psycholog, posłanka do Izby Reprezentantów, od 2019 członek Komisji Europejskiej.
Życiorys
Z zawodu psycholog kliniczny. Absolwentka psychologii na University of Reading, magisterium w tej dziedzinie uzyskała na Victoria University of Manchester. Specjalizowała się w zakresie psychologii dziecięcej w Londynie[1]. W latach 1979–2006 pracowała w ministerstwie zdrowia, gdzie zajmowała się sprawami zdrowia psychicznego dzieci i młodzieży[2]. Działaczka różnych organizacji pozarządowych, w latach 2004–2006 była prezesem The European Breast Cancer Coalition (Europa Donna)[1].
Członkini Zgromadzenia Demokratycznego. W 2006 po raz pierwszy uzyskała mandat deputowanej do Izby Reprezentantów. Z powodzeniem ubiegała się o reelekcję w 2011 i 2016[1]. W 2017 wybrana na przewodniczącą Zgromadzenia Parlamentarnego Rady Europy[2], kierowała tym gremium do 2018.
W 2019 dołączyła do Komisji Europejskiej kierowanej przez Ursulę von der Leyen (z kadencją od 1 grudnia tegoż roku) jako komisarz do spraw zdrowia[3].

Before the European Parliament can vote the new European Commission led by Ursula von der Leyen into office, parliamentary committees will assess the suitability of commissioners-designate.
On 23-26 May, more than 200,000,000 people in 28 EU countries went to the polls to elect members of the European Parliament, giving them a strong democratic mandate, including voting into office the new European Commission and examining the competencies and abilities of its commissioners-designate. Elected members of the European Parliament will also listen to their ideas and will assess their willingness to take concrete actions on the issues that Europeans care about.
Each candidate commissioner is invited for a live-streamed, three-hour hearing in front of the committee or committees responsible for their proposed portfolio. The hearings will take place between Monday 30 September and Tuesday 8 October.
