Trøndelag – region oraz okręg w środkowej Norwegii. Głównym miastem jest Trondheim nad rzeką Nidelvą.

Historia

Obszar Trøndelag jest zamieszkany od tysięcy lat. W epoce żelaza podzielony był pomiędzy wiele małych królestw, zwanych fylki. Zbierały się one co pewien czas na wspólne obrady zwane Frostating, które odbywały się na terenie obecnej gminy Frosta[1].

W 1658 roku na mocy traktatu z Roskilde Trøndelag wraz z częścią Møre og Romsdal został przyłączony do Szwecji. W 1660 roku po pokoju w Kopenhadze powrócił z powrotem do Danii.

W 1687 roku utworzony został okręg Trondhjems Amt (od starej nazwy miasta Trondheim). W 1804 roku podzielony został na dwa mniejsze okręgi: Nord-Trøndelag i Sør-Trøndelag. Od tego czasu Trøndelag funkcjonował jako region, a nie oficjalna jednostka administracyjna. Podział ten obowiązywał aż do roku 2018, kiedy znów połączono dwa mniejsze okręgi w jeden[2].

Gminy

Od 1 stycznia 2020 Trøndelag jest podzielony na 38 gmin.[3] Oraz obszar zamieszkuje 468 702 mieszkańców[4].
