Triquetra

Triquetrawiki.jpg

Triquetra (triquatra) – symbol wykorzystywany szczególnie w religii wiccańskiej obrazujący zasadę „Cokolwiek zrobisz, wróci to do ciebie z potrójną siłą”. Często widywana jest też ringtriquetra, wpleciona w okrąg. W religii chrześcijańskiej przedstawiana jako symbol Trójcy Świętej.

Triquetra-tightly-knotted.svg

A tightly-knotted form of the Triquetra.

For a version with straight lines (not partial circular arcs), see Image:Valknut-Symbol-triquetra.svg. For curved versions of the triquetra which are not tightly knotted, see Image:Triquetra-Interlaced-Triangle-Circle.svg , Image:Triquetra-Vesica.svg , Image:Triquetra-Vesica-solid.png , Image:Triquetra-Double.svg , and Image:Triquetra-circle-interlaced.svg .
Triquetra-Cross.png

A cross composed of four interlaced triquetras -- this is called a "Carolingian Cross" by Rudolf Koch. For an alternative version, see Image:Triquetra-Cross-alternate.png .

See Image:DSCN0076ConstantineWarMemorial.jpg for a form of this on a Celtic cross.

Since the Triquetra is a Trinitarian symbol, this cross could be considered to be an emblem of the Christian Trinity. For other Trinity crosses, see Image:Cross-Bottony-Heraldry.svg , Image:Borromean-cross.png / Image:Borromean-cross.svg , Image:Celtic-Cross-Vodicka-decorative-triquetras-red.svg , and perhaps Image:Cross-Flory-Heraldry.svg .
Triquetra-circle-interlaced.svg

Triquetra interlaced with a circle (ribbons or pseudo-Celtic knotwork). This is a traditional Christian Trinitarian symbol, but similar signs are also sometimes used by new agers or neo-pagans (though more often in non-interlaced form, as in Zoso.svg, Triquetra on book cover.jpg, or Triquetra.jpg). In this interlaced form, can be known as the "Trinity knot".

(Christian Symbolism: The Triquetra represents the Holy Trinity: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The unbroken circle represents eternity. The interwoven nature of the symbol denotes the indivisibility and equality of the Holy Trinity. It symbolizes that the Holy Trinity is three beings of power, honor, and glory but is indivisibly one God.)

Triquetra-Interlaced-Triangle-Circle.png

Interlaced Triquetra symbol inside an equilateral triangle which is interlaced with a circle (i.e. pseudo-Celtic knotwork or interlaced ribbons). Could be used as a Christian Trinitarian decorative/ornamental symbolic element, but might also be open to other interpretations.

For other versions of the triquetra, see also Image:Triquetra-Vesica.png , Image:Triquetra-Vesica-solid.png , Image:Triquetra-tightly-knotted.png , Image:Triquetra-Double.png , and Image:Triquetra-circle-interlaced.png .
Triquetra-Vesica.svg

A form of the Triquetra symbol which has the exact geometrical proportions to be composed of three overlapping Vesica piscis symbols — something which is important to a few authors of books on Christian symbolism. (Ribbons version.) For other versions of the triquetra, see also Image:Triquetra-Vesica-solid.png , Image:Triquetra-Double.png , Image:Triquetra-Interlaced-Triangle-Circle.png , Image:Triquetra-tightly-knotted.png , and Image:Triquetra-circle-interlaced.png .

The six curve-intersection points define four small equilateral triangles, which make up one large equilateral triangle.
