Był to siódmy w historii start reprezentacji Urugwaju na letnich igrzyskach olimpijskich.
Najmłodszym reprezentantem Urugwaju był Carlos Blixen (19 lat 331 dni), a najstarszym – Nelson Demarco (31 lat i 290 dni)[1].
