Sezon 1999 w V8 Supercar Championship Series – główna seria wyścigowa w ramach 40. sezonu australijskich wyścigów samochodów turystycznych. Od tego sezonu zmieniono oficjalną nazwę serii. Dotychczasową Australian Touring Car Championship zastąpiono przez V8 Supercar Championship Series, jednak ze względu na tytułowego sponsora częściej używano nazwy Shell Championship Series.
Sezon rozpoczął się 28 marca na torze Eastern Creek Raceway a zakończył 14 listopada wyścigiem Bathurst 1000. Składał się z trzynastu rund, z których dwie były pojedynczymi wyścigami długodystansowymi włączonymi do mistrzostw po raz pierwszy od 1977 roku.
Tytuł mistrzowski zdobył po raz trzeci w karierze Craig Lowndes.

Większość rund składała się z trzech krótkich równo punktowanych wyścigów (ok. 40–60 km każdy), a punkty przyznawano według klucza standardowego. Trzy rundy odbywały się jednak na innych zasadach:
- Runda 2 - Zawody na torze w Adelaide (Sensational Adelaide 500) - Runda składała się z dwóch wyścigów na dystansie 250 km. Pierwszy z nich odbył się w sobotę, a drugi w niedzielę (drugi wyścig był wyżej punktowany).
- Rundy 12 i 13 - Zawody długodystansowe na torach w Ipswich (Queensland 500) i Bathurst (Bathurst 1000) - dwóch kierowców zmieniało się w jednym samochodzie podczas jednego wyścigu na dystansie 500 lub 1000 km i otrzymywali taką samą liczbę punktów za zajęte miejsce.
